The front of the book offers a original look at the role that botanicals play in gin, as well as comprehensive gin history lesson - from its origins as a medicinal curative to its graduation as the poster child of the cocktail revoltuion. 
 
You can now order the Original Gin Palace book, or a new Pocket Size edition, which is considerably more portable and includes all of the content around gin history and production, along with mixed drinks, but It doesn't include the distillery tour and gin tasting notes from the larger book. This makes it an ideal introduction to gin, and a great gift.
